I missed you

Hey Reader,

The last email I sent to you was in April 2025.

So why am I back?

It's simple, really.

I missed you.

Where the hell have I been?

TLDR: The last 18 months have been... *challenging*

  • I lost my step-dad
  • I quit two jobs — one which was extremely toxic
  • My girlfriend recently moved into my place (obvs wonderful but still a major life change!)

I've also picked up new hobbies like running and football commentating.

But here's the thing...

Writing is the only thing I've ever stuck at.

The problem (I think) was that writing became everything for me. My work. My hobby. My life.

So when the Universe flung bags of sh*t at me — as it inevitably does to us all, at some point — I crumbled. My heart wasn't in it. And I felt like my whole identity went down with it.

Genuinely, I pissed away so many days watching garbage tv.

I guess I just needed a break.

And now I want to go again.

Now I know what you're thinking

Scott, you've ghosted us before. Why will this time be any different?

Honestly?

I don't know.

If you've read any of my previous work, you'll know I'm the biggest advocate for picking stuff up and putting it down if it no longer fits your plans. Podcasting. Writing. Piano-playing.

I've done this more times than I can count.

So yes, there may come a point when I disappear again. (I'll warn you know first, though.)

But I'd love you to stick around.

What's in it for you

Once or twice a month (I haven't decided yet), I'll send out a "Best of Scott's Blog". I'll handpick 5 daily blog entries I'm most proud of and share exciting updates.

99% of the content I've ever put out has been intended to help you in some way.

That'll never change.

So if this sounds good, please tap or click the orange button below.

This will let me know if you want to stick around.

If not, I'll assume you don't.

(No hard feelings if not!)

That's it for now.

Thank you for being here.

In case you're interested, here are my current projects:

  • SEO Manager at Avium
  • Finishing the rebuild of my website
  • Writing my first fiction novel

What are you currently working on?

Please reply to this email and let me know.

I'd love to support in anyway I can!

Hopefully see you again soon,

Scott

Hey Reader, 4 years ago, I started building this email list. And honestly? It's one of the best things I've ever done. Writing online has helped me connect with people all over the world, work from anywhere, and build long-lasting friendships. I'm extremely grateful to those who've stuck around. You know who you are. But my life is changing. And so too are my priorities. For the longest time, I felt like I had something to prove. (F*ck knows who to.) Writing. Travelling. Business-ing. It was...

Read time: 1 min Hey Reader, I've been sat here for the last 20 minutes thinking about what to write. I take that as a good sign. You see, writing online has been therapy for me. I've shared all of life's ugly details with you. But right now, I feel a sense of peace I haven't experienced in a while. Things are good. So much so, I've ditched my original plans for this email. Instead, I thought I'd share 7 things I'm grateful for. Maybe it'll encourage you to do the same. 5 minutes is all you...

Hey Reader, Last Saturday, I did my first live commentary for Harrogate Railway's YouTube channel! Here's the replay. But this isn't what I want to talk to you about today. Not really. No, the unexpected thing happened because of a 51-second video... Making the video I wanted to make a "day in the life" voice over video. So throughout the day, I took the following shots: Researching on my laptop Writing notes Leaving my house Walking to the stadium Going through the turnstile Commentating on...
